To all the new parents

Now that we approach a new baby in our family (don't know what I'll do about the blog name), I thought this video was great.

It all began with a high speed car chase.

Had a wonderful day with the family. I started off the morning right by waking up early, then because of that we were ready to take off and have fun before the day was over (if I tend to sleep in on a Saturday it takes a while to get going).

Just as we were about to load the kids into the car I heard a couple of police sirens. Usually this means someone in our ward has called for an ambulance, but this time there was no ambulance leading the chase. Instead a large lifted truck flew by on our street at about 60 mph with two wailing police cars in tow . Pretty fast for a 25 mph zone. After they passed and turned the corner with a screeching of tires two more police cars followed.

For anyone that knows me I just love cops the people and cops the show. This was the first in-person chase I've witnessed and it was intense. I wish I could have driven by them later on with the cops tasing the guy after he lost in his attempt to allude the police, but we didn't run across them after following in their tracks, and after a call to the dispatch later in the day I found out that the guy got away.

We did however find some cool things to do because we went that way. The kids built 3 bird houses over at the local museum. The Home Depot stopped by there and was running a kids workshop. So much fun helping the kids pound nails. I'm sure Natalie will be posting pictures at her blog. She wouldn't like it if I used the pictures before her.

We then heard about an activity at a nature preserve where we could help plant trees. We hadn't planned on it but we decided it would be fun. It's much better to dig holes somewhere besides your own yard. We were able to plant trees on the sides of a creek and the kids loved doing it. Sunscreen was my companion this weekend, so I won't have to show up at church with a red skull. We went to lunch, then to Thanksgiving Point Childrens Garden, and then home for a nap. This is too long. I'm done.

!Taylor Wins State!

We received the announcement in the mail yesterday that Taylor won State for her video entry! We were so excited and happy for her. Now her movie goes on to the National competition and we couldn't be happier. The thing I love about this video is not the fact that Taylor is young and she was able to accomplish the technical aspect, but I love the idea and I think that's what the committee's have liked. What a wonderful story about making other people happy. So simple and so effectively accomplished. I love you Taylor.

Five Wrights on Ustream

Rough night. Dallan sings.

It was such a nice day outside that when I came home there were kids crawling all over the driveway. Because of that the kids were very hungry at dinner time and very cranky at bed time. My video talks about these troubles. If it doesn't make sense it's because I'm frazzled... or maybe I just don't think too well at any time.

iChat and RockBand

Now that I have a new mac I would love to try my iChat video out. If you have a mac with iChat just post a comment to this with your email and I'll get back with you about trying it out. It would also be a great way to do a podcast. I'll also add this video of me and my family doing a little RockBand at my wife's sisters house. I'm addicted.

Matt and Me makes a return

If you remember years ago I had a website called "Matt and Me." I may start doing some shots with Matt about what we've been up to. Evey also plays a cameo in this quick video.

Work bowling

You'll see it here first. Of course I expect Natalie will show my video on her blog, but remember this is where all the Lehi action is. We had a great company party at the bowling alley. A member of our ward owns this fun, clean, and happening place. By the way, this is made with our new computer. So much better than before.
